Zeb and I did the New Jersey Time Trial championships this morning, a 40 Kilometer jaunt through south-central NJ. Can't ask for a better out and back TT course, wide shoulder, gently rolling and beautiful forest. Got there right as the rain was stopping, got a nice warm up effort in on the highway and then went to the line. 1:02:39 later and I was back where I started. It was good for 10th place in the out of state mens division, and Zeb fired off a strong 1:01:20 good for 7th place. Zeb's time is doubly impressive considering that he's been focusing on school all winter/spring and has had none of the training that took him to first place last year. Afterward everyone was beefing about how times this year were much slower than in years past, and the general consensus when comparing computer data with other riders was that the course was long, it seems they made us ride an extra 1.5-1.7 kilometers.
